This is My Story
I'm Willow Rose LMT, a licensed massage therapist with a private home spa in Bellevue WA. I believe massage therapy and aromatherapy can help bring the body mind and spirit into a state of balance. Giving yourself permission to take time away from your busy life to nurture yourself is an act of love. When we give ourselves the time we need to heal, we can live our lives more fully.
Massage has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I was raised by a massage therapist, a tai chi instructor, a nurse and ten-time Ironman triathlete. (Go Mom!) The most important thing to me in my current period of life is raising my two active growing children, both of whom I have massaged since birth. My kids love massage to help cope with the stress of growing pains and emotional turmoil. I have found massage and aromatherapy to be a very effective way to increase relaxation and help kids with high sensory needs, ADHD, and any emotional upset. Children can benefit from safe loving massage performed by a parent or a family member. The best part of giving your kids massages is when they eventually want to give you a massage, as my kids have done recently. It's such a wonderful feeling of things coming around, full circle. Massage can really help ease the pain of growing older in today's world for people of all ages. From birth to death I have experience with massaging people at every stage of life. My family life has been a continuous learning experience that has enabled me to help people of all ages and abilities.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Alternative Medicine from Everglades University. I studied therapeutic massage and hydrotherapy at The Finger Lakes School of Massage in Ithaca, NY, and graduated in 2002. In 2004, I attended a 200-hour Sivananda Yoga Teachers Training Course in the Bahamas followed by a Yoga of the Heart Certification class and received certifications in both. Later, I earned a Basic Skin Care Certification from the Florida College of Natural Health. Then, in 2008 I traveled to Thailand and took a two-week Thai Massage Course. During my career I have performed massage and body treatments in several well-known and highly rated resort spas and worked at a local health club in the Bellevue. Along the way, I have taken many continuing education courses and am certified in LaStone® Therapy, prenatal massage, and reflexology. Currently I am taking an Aromatherapy Certification Course through Aromahead Institute, which is owned by the former owners of the Finger Lakes School of Massage. I feel so blessed to have had so many teachers helping and guiding me on my path. Thank you to all the wonderful teachers out there!
